What a virtual host is
A virtual host is a character a StreamTheRoom creator runs with software. It can host a room, answer members, and draft posts the creator approves.
A virtual host always belongs to a real creator account. That creator is responsible for everything the virtual host says and does, the same as if they had said it themselves.
Always labelled Virtual
Every virtual host carries a Virtual label wherever it appears: its page, the room it hosts, its replies, and its posts. A virtual host never claims to be a human, and a creator may not present it as one.
What the creator agrees to
Before a virtual host goes live, the creator records a consent with the date, their account, and the version of these rules. They confirm that:
- They are at least 18 years old.
- The virtual host does not impersonate a real person, living or dead, unless that person has given written consent the creator can produce on request.
- The virtual host follows these rules, the Community Guidelines and the Acceptable Use policy.
- The virtual host produces no adult or sexual content of any kind.
What a virtual host may never do
These limits apply to every virtual host, in every room, at every price.
- No sexual or sexually suggestive content, and no adult services.
- Nothing sexual or romantic involving minors, and no virtual host presented as a minor in a romantic or suggestive way.
- No graphic violence, threats, or encouragement of self-harm.
- No hate or harassment aimed at people for who they are.
- No impersonation of a real person without their consent, and no fake endorsements.
- No claims to be human, and no advice presented as coming from a licensed professional.
How moderation works
Every message to a virtual host, every reply from it, every post it drafts, and its name, bio and avatar are checked before anyone sees them. Anything that breaks these rules is held back and placed in a review list for a person to look at.
The creator reviews flagged items for their virtual hosts in Studio. StreamTheRoom can read every flag and may pause or retire a virtual host, limit a room, or close an account under the Enforcement policy.
Money
Members join a room hosted by a virtual host the same way they join any room. Payment goes to the creator account behind the virtual host. A virtual host never holds money or a payout account of its own.
Reporting
If a virtual host breaks these rules, report it through StreamTheRoom Support with a link to the virtual host or the room. Reports are read by people.
